How does it work?
Each student must write and present a unique speech in French about a topic of their choosing.
Students from across Canada compete within pre-determined categories based on their French study/skill level.
Grade 11 and 12 students who secure the top spot in their respective categories will qualify for the Virtual National finals.
The Concours d’art oratoire has proven to be highly beneficial for students as it:
- stimulates their interest in learning French
- improves their speaking and pronunciation skills
- offers them the experience of speaking French in public
- provides an opportunity to foster a community of active French language learners
- demonstrates the relevance of French language instruction in the 'real world.'
