In celebration of I Read Canadian Day, Canadian Parents for French (CPF) is excited to announce a Reading Raffle contest designed to engage and inspire our young bilingual readers nationwide!
CPF has partnered with Canadian author, Candace Amarante, Canadian illustrator, Lysanne Abelardo to share an interactive, online version of her book Le Ciel Me Sourit / The Sky Smiles at Me.
Contest participants are invited to read Le Ciel Me Sourit / The Sky Smiles at Me, and complete the associated activity based on their age group for a chance to win one of our Reading Raffle prizes.
This contest is open to all children in Canada and is divided into the following age groups:
Participants who are 5 years and under are invited to read the book and submit a picture they drew inspired by Le Ciel Me Sourit / The Sky Smiles at Me. Click below for guidelines and to submit your artwork before November 6!
Participants who are 6 years and older are invited to read the book and answer a series of creative, literary, and scientific questions based on their reading. Click the link below to peruse the questions and submit your answers before November 6!
Winners will receive a copy of Le Ciel Me Sourit / The Sky Smiles at Me, a Science Kit from the Montreal Science Center, and other surprises from Canadian Parents for French.
Candace Amarante is an artist-researcher specializing in writing children’s stories and plays. In most of her stories, she pursues two main goals: bringing awareness of children’s rights through the arts, and incorporating, in children’s literature, the voice of children with chronic illnesses.
